International Week ’17

From November 13 to November 16, Ventspils University College (VUC) will be organising the International Week ’17 with a wide variety of events, attracting both Latvian and international students and academic staff.

The opening event of the International Week will take place on November 13 in room D104 at 12:45 and will be marked by presentations from international students, talking about their countries, traditions and other interesting facts.

On Tuesday, November 14, at 15:00, Līgas Reitere will give a lecture on “Dress code: Latvian”. During the lecture, students from the VUC folk dance group will present national costumes.On Wednesday, November 15, at 18:00 Roberta Chichi, resident volunteer in Ventspils Library, from Italy will give a lecture on “Italian Traditions: Nowadays”.

The end of the International Week will be marked by Bernard Sordet’s discussion “The Possibility of Europe and its Coming” at 14:30 in VUC Library. The languages of the discussion will be English, Latvian and French. The discussion will be led by Ineta Stadgale, VUC lecturer, and will be translated by an interpreter.Everyone is welcome to participate in the International Week ’17!
